Skipaluckystar was purchased by Burton Oil and Water as a 5 month old colt after being advertised in Horse Deals. From the photo in the magazine, Fred saw that Skipaluckystar had exceptional structure and conformation and consequently contacted the breeder, Sue Sparkman of Summer Ville in Victoria to validate Skipaluckystar’s breeding and negotiate the purchase, without physical observation of the horse. Sparky has turned out to be a very wise and intuitive choice. Skipaluckystar is affectionately known as Sparky at home, in honour of Sue Sparkman.

 

Skipaluckystar has been confirmed as HYPP, HENDRA, OWLS and PSSM1 negative.

 

Skipaluckystar’s breeding is impeccable, his sire being First Down (IMP USA) and his dam, Skipastaray (IMP USA) (decesed 2010).

 

Skipaluckystar is following in his parents’ footsteps, achieving to date:

 

• 2012/2013 Supreme Western Halter Horse multiple times at the South West Appaloosa & All Breeds Performance Club (SWAABPC)
